December 3 / Vision without limitations

"Perhaps for the first time we can envision our new life."
Main Text, p. 41

In active addiction the image we had of ourselves was very limited. Every day we followed the same process: find, drink and invent ways and methods to find more. And that was the best we had to wait for the rest of our lives. Our range of options was limited.

Today our life has another perspective. Recovery has given us a new vision for ourselves and our lives. We are no longer locked into the unrelenting monotony of addiction. We are free to try new ways, new ideas and activities. By doing so, we begin to see ourselves with a different eye. Our potential is limited only by the Higher Power that cares for us, which is limitless.

In recovery, life opens up before us in all its richness. When we walk on spiritual principles, drawing strength from the God of our understanding, our horizons are constantly expanding.

Just for today

I will open my eyes to the prospects that open before me. My potential is as limitless as the God of my understanding. I will use them today.
