Narcotics Anonymous is an international community of recovering drug addicts, with more than 70,000 weekly meetings in 144 countries.
What is the NA program?
• NA is a non-profit fraternity or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem.
• The program is aimed at all drug addicts, regardless of which substance or combination of substances they were taking.
• The core of the program is a recovery process that members work through applying the principles contained in the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA.
• To become a member there are no social, religious, economic, racial, ethnic, or gender or social class criteria.
• NA is completely self-sustaining. Expenses are covered by the contributions of its members, refusing financial support from non-members.
• Narcotics Anonymous is not affiliated with any other organization, including other Twelve Step programs, drug addiction centers, or correctional institutions.
• NAs do not express an opinion on political, social, medical, legal or religious matters. They also do not take a position on issues related to addiction such as crime, law enforcement, drug legalization, or criminal penalties.
• The program focuses on its primary purpose, which is to convey the message that any drug addict can stop using and find a new way of life away from drugs.
How Narcotics Anonymous works together
NA seeks to work with anyone interested in the program, such as people in government agencies, the health and addictions field, the justice and prison system, and private voluntary organizations. Approaches to collaboration include: information for a first contact with the program, dissemination of literature and provision of information about recovery.

If you are interested in learning more about the NA program, we hold presentations at rehab centers and correctional institutions to provide information to the workers there, or to share the recovery experience with other addicts who are unable to attend our meetings.
